Lessons are advertised as time you spend at the wheel. Pick ups can be arranged
from home, work or college.
Pricing for lessons
1 hour =
£30.00
Initially lessons can be an hour long. However, if you live outside the Monmouth
area, they will need to be increased to one and a half hours. (As this is where
the test centre is based)
Students often ask how many lessons are required. You must be able to drive
consistently well, with confidence and without help and guidance. If you can't,
then you are not ready for your test. Making sure you are ready will save you
time and money in the long run. No two people are the same, and all learn at
different rates. Nationally, those that pass there test have had, on average, 42
hours of professional training.
My aim is to teach you to be safe on today's roads, not just pass a test.
Test fees
There are a number of sites on the internet that will arrange tests for you. .
But they charge extra. I therefore
recommend that you only use the official DVSA site. Please see the 'Useful Links'
Section
The current theory test fee is £23.00
The current practical test fee is £62.00
* based on the DVSA's average number of lessons, learning to drive can cost in
the region of £1345
